Lisa A. Woodard has worked in the education field for 34 years.  Fourteen of those years were spent in the classroom teaching gifted/talented students and six were in an Academics and Arts Magnet School where her duties were primarily administrative.  In 1995, she accepted a position with the State Department of Education (SDE) as an Education Specialist in the area of Library Media.  In 1996, she moved to a newly created section within the SDE, the Office of Technology Initiatives and assumed a leadership position in 1997.  As the Coordinator of the Office of Technology Initiatives, her responsibilities included implementation of the state technology plan; the administration of two federal grants (Goals 2000 and the Technology Literacy Challenge Grant); the E-rate program; and coordination of the professional development program for school system technology coordinators.  In 2000, Ms. Woodard accepted a position as Senior Research Policy Analyst with SERVE, the regional education laboratory at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. In this position, she worked closely with the Superintendent of Education in Alabama in the area of education policy.  In 2002, Lisa became the Director of Education and Outreach with Computer Sciences Corporation on the Alabama Supercomputer project. In 2006, she began work in her current position as the Research and Legislative Director for the School Superintendents of Alabama.
